Elena Gwynne (Quill and Ink Indexing)
I am a freelance indexer with over nine years of experience in creating indexes for both trade and scholarly books on various subjects, including memoirs/biographies, history, current affairs and politics, gardening, food and cooking, general interest finance and real estate, education and self help along with many other subject areas.
While I have experience indexing a wide range of topics and enjoy the process of creating an index, I truly love indexing books on history and related fields.
I hold a B.A. majoring in Classical Studies and minoring in Medieval Studies from the University of British Columbia, and completed the University of Berkley Indexing Theory and Application Course in 2013.
Indexing has rapidly become a passion of mine, dovetailing with my long-held love of books, reading and history. I strive to make every index the very best I can. One truth (of many) that I’ve discovered through my years of indexing is that every book, even if covers the same material as a different title will always have a slightly different take on the subject, and I want to give that take the high quality index, or indexes it needs, adding value to your book.
When I’m not indexing, my hobbies include spinning, weaving, crocheting, knitting, cross-stitch, gardening, hiking, kayaking and photography.
