ISC/SCI Banquet, with special guest Hazel Bell:
The banquet will be held at The Chef’s House, 215 King Street East, at 7pm, Thursday, June 5
Hazel Bell’s address, The Personality of the Indexer, considers the personality of indexers as it is popularly supposed to be and as it is ideally prescribed in texts, and presents some individual examples.
Hazel, a member of the Society of Indexers for the United Kingdom and Ireland, has compiled more than eight hundred indexes to books and journals, twice winning the Wheatley Medal for an outstanding index. She edited The Indexer from 1978 to 1995, and has received the Carey Award for services to indexing. She has written three books on indexing, as well as many articles.
