Writers Unlimited Inc, Charlee Trantino

I have been a full-time indexer for over twenty years.  I work almost exclusively with large commercial publishing houses doing current nonfiction on a variety of topics.  Some of the significant books I’ve indexed include Wonder Drug: The Secret History of Thalidomide in America by Jennifer Vanderbes; Gallop Toward the Sun: Tecumseh and William Henry Harrison’s Struggle for the Destiny of a Nation by Peter Stark; Catching the Wind, a biography of Ted Kennedy by Neal Gabler, King Richard on Nixon by Michael Dobbs, JFK by Fredik Logevall, His Very Best on Jimmy Carter by Jonathan Alter; 400 Souls by by Ibram X. Kendi and Keisha N. Blain on Black history; A Most Remarkable Creature, a study of birds by Jonathan Meiburg, and Survival of the Friendliest by Hare and Woods on evolutionary theory. I also index sports books (primarily on baseball), cookbooks, politics, literature, international affairs, and popular culture.  I received the Wilson Award for Excellence in Indexing in 2005.  I am also a past president of the American Society for Indexing.
