ISC-L FAQs

ISC-L is our members’ listserv and is an opt-in resource for our members to ask questions of other indexers, see responses to those questions, and share other indexing-related information about jobs and scholarships. It’s a great way to get to connect with some colleagues in the society.

Any current member of ISC/SCI can join the list.

To subscribe, send an email message to isc-l-join@list.web.net. Leave the subject line and message areas blank. You will promptly receive a message with further instructions.

To unsubscribe, send an email to isc-l-leave@list.web.net. Note, you can leave at anytime.

To change your email address, unsubscribe with the old email and subscribe with the new one.

To post a message to all the list members, send an email to isc-l@list.web.net.

Attachments are allowed, but the message with the attachment will be sent to the moderator before it is released.

This may not be the answer in each instance, but sometimes it is because the email exceeds size restrictions.

Please email the membership@indexers.ca to change your subscription from digest to individual emails or vice versa.

Please view the list guidelines.

Members’ posts are not moderated because ISC/SCI members are overwhelmingly decent people who follow the guidelines.

If you wish to report a problem with the email list management or the content, please contact membership@indexers.ca or presidents@indexers.ca rather than posting to the list.

The executive committee of ISC/SCI reserves the right to ban abusive participants from the ISC-L email list.

Yes, there is! Visit the ISC-L archives page. You’ll find postings by thread, subject, author, and date for each month.
